Guiding Principles
Te Māra is guided in its vision by these
guiding principles:
Tikanga Karaitiana - recognition that Jesus Christ is
Lord and Saviour, and that His call to Leadership is a call to
humble service to God, selfless ministry to others, and a
commission to go into all the world and make disciples.
Tikanga Maori – recognition that Maori language and
Maori culture are gifts from God, and that through Christ they
have the inherent potential to reveal and express God’s glory.
Tino Rangatahitanga – recognition of the struggle and
potential of rangatahi Maori.
Mihinaretanga – continuation of the work and ministry
of the Mihinare Church in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
Name
Te Māra is the word
for the Garden. Gardens are a place of nurture, of growth,
of love.
